2022: The Year of Ultimate Growth

Updated: Jan 28, 2022

I always love January because it's the month of renewal--there's a collective, yet individualized sense of hope in the air that's almost contagious. With the craziness of the holidays behind us, we take a deep breath and step back. The ability to look both inward and off into the distance at what has not yet been written allows us to devote more time to planning, working toward, and manifesting our new resolutions. This is our opportunity to begin pushing ourselves to greater lengths and holding ourselves to higher standards than ever before. And the beauty of it is that there are always so many ways to better ourselves and become the best versions of who we are physically, mentally, and emotionally. Everyone loves a fresh, new beginning, and January is the perfect time to fuel the necessary motivation that can help power our dreams.

What do you picture when you hear the word, "success?" The image probably comes to you pretty instantly. Do you see yourself getting that promotion at work, traveling to all of the countries on your bucket list, graduating with a specific degree...or maybe turning a sizeable profit from your small business? Whatever it looks like to you, that is your personal idea of success. But, if I were to ask you what you picture when you hear the phrase "road to success," it gets a bit more complicated, right? The road to success isn't always easy. We all want to hit "skip" on this part of the movie and get to the end where we can enjoy the fruits of our labor. Yet this is the most important part! The growth itself. The building of foundations. This is also where success can be found. So, instead of putting all the focus on the "end goal," put more emphasis on how you'll get there and what those initial steps look like. Let's dive into some ways that you can tackle your goals more efficiently and how to get yourself to that launch point you've been waiting for.

If you want to focus on improving health...

The term "health" is an umbrella term for so many different facets of life, so first narrow it down to which category of health you want to give attention to. Mental, emotional, and/or physical. Next, identify why. Why do you want to improve this area of your health? How will you feel once you've done that? If it's strictly physical, maybe you want to eat healthier because you're sick of feeling bloated and tired every day. Or maybe you want to work out more because you feel like you aren't as strong or fit as you want to be. Once you know the reasoning behind these goals, you can outline realistic ways to accomplish them. Remember that if you jump in head-first and begin with unrealistically high expectations of yourself, you may end up surrounded by disappointment and feelings of failure. Don't set yourself up for that! Instead, work your way up by taking it step-by-step and implementing changes that you can handle. Success doesn't happen overnight, progress does.

If you want to focus on improving confidence...

First, realize that there is no one like you! You are beautiful, unique, and the world is a better place because you are in it. Now, if there are certain things holding you back from thinking those thoughts about yourself, this is the year to stop letting that negativity win out. And what I mean by that is this: if these past two years of craziness have shown us anything, it's that life as we know it truly can change in the blink of an eye and there is NO reason why you shouldn't follow your true passions and interests at this moment.

Remember that having insecurities and wanting something for yourself that brings you happiness doesn't mean that you aren't confident in who you are. We always want things, even without realizing it sometimes, that will enhance how we see ourselves or enhance our self-love. That is completely human and perfectly normal!

Identifying what you want to build confidence in and why is, again, the perfect place to start! Is it your public speaking skills, wardrobe, general motivation, work performance, or maybe physical appearance (such as hair loss)? If you're struggling with hair loss or

baldness, there are resources available to you! For example, Picasso Scalp Micropigmentation is a company founded by Jeff Villenas, former barber and barbershop owner, that helps people return to feeling their best through scalp micropigmentation. This is a non-surgical procedure that utilizes tattoo dots to create the look of healthy, new hair particles, and can help people struggling with the onset of bald spots as well as chemotherapy patients, accident survivors, and more. Micropigmentation offers a non-invasive, permanent solution that has literally changed the lives of hundreds of people who need scalp micropigmentation in the Los Angeles, California area.

I hope this post helps you on your new 2022 journey, and I wish you all the most fulfilling year of self-discovery and progress.

With Love,

Lindsay <3
