Yummy Coffee Protein Shake Recipe- Mocha Flavored

Updated: May 5, 2019

I'm a girl that loves coffee and breakfast shakes, but I'll let you in on a secret I'm not too proud of-- I'm much better at remembering to have my morning Cup Of Joe on the daily to wake me up. That's just the sad reality of it...UNTIL I created this recipe!

What if I told you you could kill two birds with one stone? This delicious coffee smoothie is sure to give you that caffeine boost you want while also filling you with protein and nutrients giving you plenty of energy for the rest of your morning. Whether it's for a breakfast on-the-go or after a workout, this smoothie will totally change your mornings if you're a coffee-lover like me. And the best part? It's SO yummy and guilt-free. Umm, yes please! :)

Ingredients:

-1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I have women's health protein powder from Trader Joe's)

-3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

-1 tablespoon dark roast instant coffee granules OR 6oz iced coffee/cold brew

-1 teaspoon almond butter

-1/4 cup rolled oats

-1 cup ice

-2 teaspoons cocoa powder

Optional Ingredients:

-1/4 cup vanilla coffee creamer (for more of a sweet, vanilla flavor)

-1/2 of a banana

Directions:

All you need to do is pour the ingredients into a blender, mix, and enjoy!

*Quick tip: When using a regular blender, I like to pour in the rolled oats first because that way they're closest to the blades; this is to make sure that the oats blend enough, fully through the shake. They can sometimes be tricky to completely mix well and I personally don't like sipping oats through my straw (hehe). You may have to mix this a bit more than with a fruit smoothie to make sure of this!

As you can see, this is such an easy recipe; I truly hope you fall in love with it just as I have! Try it out & be sure to comment down below to let me know what you think <3

Love,

Lindsay
